Fertilization is a highly complicated process between the egg and the sperm and includes certain successive complex interactions.

This technique is used for treatment of many reasons for infertility.

 

In vitro fertilization is indeed assisted reproduction. In in vitro fertilization, the female egg cell, oocyte and the male cell, sperm are fertilized outside the body in special laboratory conditions. Fertilized egg cells are called embryo. One or more of the embryos obtained from in vitro fertilization are selected and placed in the mother’s uterus.
